Fabio Berti graduated in International Relations from the University of Pisa (Italy) at the age of 22, and obtained a specialization in International Trade at the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy). After years of experience around the world, he represented two companies in the Metalworking sector as an exporter. He speaks 7 languages fluently, including Spanish and Russian. Currently, he is the Exports and Projects Manager for the Maflex group, in particular, he is responsible for paper development projects in Western Europe and Central-Latin America.
He participates in Latampaper to present the latest developments in the Tissue Conversion sector in order to improve production efficiency.
Raúl Moreno graduated from the National Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and years later obtained an MBA from Thunderbird School of Management.
Within Firefly AB he has been responsible for the development of the division of Latin America, Spain and Portugal since 2011, for which a local network of customer service has been created, both commercial and technical.
Raúl has also led an internal team of Firefly for the development of new applications and technologies designed specifically for customers in the paper industry.
He worked for 16 years in product engineering, in this period 14 years dedicated to Hergen Paper Machinery in the development of roll projects.
Since 2012 in the commercial sector of Hergen Paper Machinery, it provides customer service in the design, replacement and technical assistance of rolls and specialized services in paper and pulp machines produced by Hergen or other manufacturers .
Niklas Tunell is presently the Area Sales Manager covering North and South America for CELLWOOD MACHINERY headquartered in Sweden. He is stationed in Toronto, Canada.
As a graduate in Mechanical Engineering with later additions in areas such as process control, process design, paper manufacturing, pulp manufacturing as well as recycled fibre technology he has held a number of positions within CELLWOOD MACHINERY.
Starting in 1992 as a mechanical engineer followed by commissioning engineer, and project manager to the present Area Sales Manager position.
Holding the above positions has over the years involved extensive travelling globally and has contributed to a wide experience in all types of pulp and paper manufacturing.
Marcel Lensvelt is the founder of Feltest Equipment BV. He has over 20 years of experience in the international paper machine clothing industry. He started his career in 1995 as a sales & service engineer for a machine clothing manufacturer. For a number of years he was also a press felt application engineer, designing felts for faster paper machines in Holland and Belgium.
In the year 2008 Marcel started his own company, Feltest, to develop new and innovative measuring instruments and tools for both users and suppliers of paper machine clothing. It is Marcel’s personal mission to provide papermakers all the tools and knowledge they need to get the best of their fabrics and felts.
Marcel is 48 years old and holds degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration. He regularly meets papermakers and PMC suppliers from all over the whole world but he has his home in the Netherlands, Europe.
Has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master in Business Economics & Management both earned at the University of Pisa.
After holding different roles he has been working in the last 12 years in the paper industry specializing in tissue drying and focusing on energy saving technologies.
Actually holds the position of Sales Manager for the Tissue Division in Toscotec being responsible for new projects and business development for Latin America.
Engineer Rui Stefanini Júnior is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the University Methodist from Piracicaba (Brazil) with an MBA in Business Management.
He started his professional activities at Beloit in the Engineering Department in 1981, from where he worked in the areas of Machine Engineering, Application and Sales until January 2001.
From March 2001 to October 2015 he worked in Valmet/Metso with the responsibility for the area of Engineering and Sales and Services for the areas of Paper, Board and Tissue, where he was responsible for the local technical definition of the projects for new machines and rebuilds manufactured in Brazil.
In December 2015 he started in Hergen with the responsibility of Application Engineering And Sales for Hergen Projects and Rebuilds in Brazil and abroad.
Felipe Quintino began his career in the Tissue Paper industry more than 20 years ago. He had work for large companies in the Brazilian market and for almost 10 years founded the Web page Tissue Online. As CEO of Tissue Online Web page is dedicated to helping create an increasingly Tissue Paper market STRONG.
Jörg Reiprich is Head of Application Engineering at Schäfer Rolls, an internationally renowned, family-owned producer of polymer-based roll covers which was founded more than 70 years ago in Germany, with today several production sites in Europe and the USA.
After his studies of Physical Engineering at the university RWTH Aachen in 1995, Jörg Reiprich started his career in the paper industry and is today involved in projects around the globe. Over the past 20 years he has become an expert in improving the paper machine performance by optimizing roll cover materials and designs. Jörg Reiprich has profound experience in all cover-related performance solutions, e.g. for calender, sizer or press applications and several technical service measurements such as electronic nip survey or infrared diagnostic.
Robert Weber, Swiss Mexican nationality, Mechanical Engineer specializing in Turbo machines, working for many years with OEMs such as Sulzer Escher Wyss, ABB and MAN Turbo.
Now with Turboservice in Mexico he supports the paper industry for the installation and repair of gas turbines and the development of sustainable cycles with renewable energy, also offering the modernization of the turnkey vacuum system for energy savings and zero water to protect the environment.
The plant in Mexico with offices in Canada and Brazil allows supporting sustainable and low-cost projects throughout the Americas.

Sebastian Lohm started in the paper industry first time in 1993. At the time working in different paper mills during his studies, and then 1999 he graduated as Paper Engineer. Since the graduation he worked 15 years of his career in the Paper Machine Clothing supplier in many different positions starting from the Technical Service and then continuing to the global Product Management. Beginning of the year 2015 he moved to the Runtech Systems where he has been Sales Manager for the last 5 years. Runtech’s main products for the Paper Industry are Turbo Blowers for the vacuum systems and many different runnability equipment including Save-alls and Doctoring equipment for the forming and press sections, Tail Threading equipment for the whole machine, Web Stabilizers for the dryer sections as well as all different kind of equipment improving the runnability and/or increasing the production and/or decreasing the energy consumption.
During his whole working life he has been traveling to the customer sites and spending 100-150 days together with the customers to fully understand the customer needs and to bring back the development ideas to make the paper makers operations further more efficient.
Marcos Scheil Gonçalves is a mechanical engineer, post-graduated in Business Administration with a specialization in business school. Marcos started his engineering career at Voith in Brazil 28 years ago, going through design and sales departments, the last 18 years being dedicated to the tissue market. He has been active in the North American (4 years), Asian (5 years) and European (7 years) tissue markets, returning to São Paulo in June 2015 as Tissue Machine Application and Sales Manager for the Americas market.
Since March 4, 2019, Mr. Alex Aerts has served as the Head of Local Product Management for Voith Paper North America. Previously, Mr. Aerts was an Application Engineer and a Design Engineer for Voith Paper North America.
Mr. Aerts began his professional career at Voith four years ago when he joined Voith Paper as a Design Engineer in 2015 at the company’s facility in Appleton, Wisconsin with responsibilities including the design and model testing of paper machine rebuild equipment. In 2017, he was appointed to the position of Application Engineer, where he was responsible for quoting and supporting the sales functions of paper machine rebuild equipment.
Mr. Aerts holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Foundation in Business from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
Mr. Michael Hmielewski began his professional career at Voith more than 21 years ago when he joined Voith Paper North America as a Product Engineer in the Stock Preparation area. He continued his career as a Product Manager of Pulping and Fiber Processing. Later, he became the Application Engineering Manager and then Vice President of Stock Preparation Projects.
Mr. Hmielewski holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI.
Juan Carlos Vázquez is Applications and Services Engineer for Andritz Fabrics and Rolls México, being part of a team of experienced Application Engineers at Andritz, with the objective of delivering documented value to his customers. Andritz is a leading global developer and supplier of high engineering products and services, through world-class technology. Juan Carlos graduated in the Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores in Ecatepec, State of Mexico. He has a background in Process Analysis and Lean Manufacturing by the Tecnológico de Monterrey, having an experience of 20 years in the Paper Industry and its by-products, especially focused on the Maintenance and Productivity of the Paper Machine. He has worked for companies such as SCA, DTA Projects and Engineering, CMPC and Green Paper. He regularly participates giving training in Maintenance and Operation of Rolls oriented to Productivity, also participating in the Implementation of a World Class Maintenance and in the integration and training of High Performance Teams.
Graduated in Mechanical and Safety Engineering at Mackenzie University, with specialization on Business Administration at the same University. Started at Pilão S.A, 25 years ago, as Quality Manager and then as Industrial Manager up to Technical and Commercial Manager. Worked at many stock preparation companies with focus on refining and screening, with several training around the world. Currently working at Parason Calpher Americas as International Sales Manager, acting in all The Americas, offering technical and commercial support to paper mills on stock preparation systems.
Chartered Engineer (British Engineering Council). MSc in Applied Energy (Cranfield University U.K.), specializing in Energy Systems and Thermal Processes. Industrial Technical Engineer, specializing in ‘Industrial Structures and installations’ by the University of the Basque Country. 20 years of experience in the design of auxiliary processes of the paper machine. His areas of work and experience include the management of industrial projects for the paper industry. He has participated in about 50 projects in countries such as: Spain, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Germany, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, China and Costa Rica.
Walter Rudolf Hanisch Mechanical Engineer, also has a Postgraduate degree in Economics.
He has extensive experience in the Machines for the Manufacture of Tissue having worked in Voith for 7 years and Beloit for 4 years.
He founded GEASA in 2001 together with Marcos Veroneze and Orlando Fort. During these 17 years of work in Geasa he has been in charge of the Coordination of Projects of machines and equipment for the Stock Preparation. Expertise in Head-Boxes, Fourdrinier tables, Tissue Machines and Applicators.
Mechanical Engineer graduated from the University of Monterrey (UDEM) generation 2008 - 2013.
Work experience in MPC from 2010 to 2012 in the continuous improvement area, developing activities such as updating and defining the organization chart of the company, standardization of predictive maintenance reports as well as the definition of objectives and scope of internal processes.
In October 2012 he took the position of Project Engineer at the company Frisa Aerospace taking different responsibilities and projects such as the mechanical design of a laboratory prototype based on mathematical analysis and finite element analysis. He contributed to the automation of a prototype through the use of PLC and some other activities such as the development of mechanical drawings with degrees of tolerance for machining.
In June 2014, he came to the CEMEX company where he served as the mechanical maintenance coordinator where he stood out for being responsible for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of furnaces, mills, crushers, among other equipment such as compressors. He developed activities such as managing a team with more than 32 maintenance technicians, at the same time that the planning of the main maintenance of the company's equipment was carried out, mainly mills and furnaces.
In August 2018, after a specialized master's degree in mechanical engineering at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, he returned to the company MPC where he currently holds the position of vibration analyst and has been responsible for monitoring the conditions of 4 lines of papermaking machinery at the renowned paper mill company COPAMEX, and has also contributed with ODS (OperationDeflection Shape) analysis in different industries nationally and internationally.
Pedro D. Hernández, started in the sales area more than 16 years ago supporting position control systems for factory automation. Since 2010 successfully joined the flow control market, obtaining remarkable results in applications for energy processes , chemicals, petrochemicals and paper. He has participated in important construction projects of the paper industry, power generation and oil in the last 5 years through the advice, calculation and selection of valves, supporting those involved, offering the best technologies and solutions in control of fluids. He participates with Neles México (Formerly Metso Flow Control) since 2018, in charge of coordinating distribution channels and as Head of the Paper Business within the region of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
