Stephen Kasik joined Osprey Corporation in 2014 as a Project Engineer, building a strong foundation in equipment design, process air systems, and full-scale project execution. In 2020, he moved into a strategic technical sales role, leading key accounts across the Non-woven, Personal Care, Tissue/Corrugated, and Agriculture sectors.
Known for aligning engineering precision with business outcomes, Stephen has successfully driven complex process air projects from concept through implementation. He is a recognized authority in systems involving combustible dust applications, delivering solutions that enhance safety, performance, and operational reliability.
Abstract: Capturing Converting Air - A look at collecting and managing combustible tissue dust
Traditional converting operations may lack a properly designed dust control system. This deficiency causes combustible dust to be suspended in the air and accumulates to dangerous levels inside of the production facilities.
This dusty environment increases risk of fires and explosions, operator safety, operational downtime and customer satisfaction.
A properly designed dust control system takes a different approach by preventing dust from being suspended during normal operation, significantly reducing the conditions that lead to dust hazards.
As a result, converting operations can avoid many of the regulatory, safety, and maintenance burdens associated with combustible dust by understanding impact of converting air control.
The outcome is a safer, more efficient dust collection solution that reduces risk, complexity, and total cost of ownership.

Working history of 22 years in RUNTECH, working on projecting, R&D, project management and sales. Strong background in paper machines vacuum systems and dewatering systems. High understanding of savings generating with turbo vacuum systems in paper machine, together with ROI calculations and comparison to other competitive systems.
Abstract: Press Felt Dewatering Optimization with Advanced Turbo Blower and Online Measurement Technology
In the changing conditions of a paper machine, it is not optimal to have the same amount of vacuum (kPa and/or air flow) constantly. In this presentation we will talk about Runtech’s EP technology which is based on variable speed turbo blowers and can cut the paper machine vacuum system energy costs by approx. 30% to 70% compared to more traditional technologies. Due to the fully adjustable speed, it is easy to optimize the vacuum system to meet varying operational situations. This creates a vacuum system with superior operational efficiency compared to other vacuum systems available.
Integrating EcoFlow dewatering measurements into vacuum system rebuilds extends benefits beyond electricity savings. It also simplifies vacuum control, improves moisture extraction, conserves water, accelerates felt conditioning, reduces felt costs, increases production, and facilitates the recovery of exhaust air heat energy.
